Let us share some impressions of the first day of the trainer course in Targu-Mures.
Today, the training course started with around 35 people. The training course is meant to be mainly for people that are already coaches or that would like to become coaches and start a floorball project in the area. But there were also many teenagers who just would like to improve their floorball skills and might become coaches in the next years. It was fantastic to see how motivated everyone was and how much they want to learn. It was especially an honor to welcome four Moldavian guys who travelled the whole night so that they could be in Tirgu Mures, Romania when the course started at 9:00am, they drove about 11 hours!!
After everyone was registered where they also received a booklet, a shirt and a bottle, the course started. We created two groups, one was for the advanced players/coaches and one with floorball beginners or younger players. The main topic for today was the controlling of the ball. We did some exercises with the groups to show them what they could do in future trainings. We also did some games and checked on some techniques. In the match, we also tried to teach them how to exchange in-between the lines/team without interrupting the game. Let’s say it this way: there is huge room for improvement… Our goal in our Swiss team is set. ;-)
For the lunch breaks during the course, we can go with the whole group to an Italian restaurant nearby, this is really great! We have Romas in the group that can never experience how it is to eat in a restaurant. After our plate of delicious pasta and a sweet crêpes for dessert, the course program continued. This time, we played on three fields. On one field, three guys from the advanced team could lead a training with Roma kids who were invited especially for this occasion. On the other fields, we continued with further exercises, games and matches. Beside this, the most important thing was that we explained them the different signs of a referee and when the ref should whistle for what. Let’s see if we find one or two talented referees in the next days. J
In the match in the last 45min, we saw many really strong floorball players and also good tactics! The fruits of the last three years were clearly visible! How motivated is this!! Our team was really impressed and we are very excited to continue the course for the next three days. How much can we achieve?
