After a intensive and exciting week today we enjoy the first and only free day. And we'll celebrate the second time the Easter days... it's the Romanian Easter time now.
Read what we have done the last days.
Today, the last school trainings took place in the morning and afternoon. In the morning, we could welcome a kindergarten, first and second class. We split the group in two teams and taught the little ones with the “way-too-long” sticks how to protect the ball, how to pass and how to shoot to the goal. As usual, we ended the two-hour lesson with a floorball game and the kids were fully engaged and motivated. You can see how much they loved this lesson and to experience something special in their unexcited daily routine.
During lunch break, we could finally enjoy the first warm spring sun outside of the sports hall where we ate our brought sandwiches. We had 1.5 hours to relax and collect new energy for our last lesson with the local school kids.
In the afternoon, it was 3
rd and 4
th grades’ turn. Soon we noticed that it would not be as calm and easy as it was in the morning, but it was also great to be able to do a bit more demanding exercises. Many of those kids already experienced these floorball school lessons in the last one or two years. But on the other hand, the frustration level of those kids is not very high, so it can happen quickly that someone leaves because they are losing or something doesn’t work as they want. But in the end, we saw many happy faces as they really appreciated what we are doing.
In the meantime, one part of our team was leading the kids program in the afternoon. The kids program contains of telling a story, singing songs and playing some games for Roma kids. Yesterday, the small kids, they are about 3 to 8 years old were invited and today, the bigger ones which were about 8-14 years old. Yesterday, 59 kids turned up and today more than 60 and they all had some little flowers in their hands which they brought to our team. It was nice to see how the kids appreciated this program. Tomorrow, we will have a free day and nothing special is on the program. Let’s see what we will do together, for sure we will have fun! :-)
